OBJECTIVES OF THE INTEGRATED BASIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT (IBED)

  1. To enable the learner to acknowledge the Triune God as Creator (Father), Redeemer (Jesus Christ), and Sanctifier (Holy Spirit), with Mary and the saints as models for growth in holiness;
  2. To provide a well-rounded curriculum that is relevant and that which clearly strengthens the foundational knowledge and skills, attitudes and values, including their moral and spiritual dimensions essential to the learner's personal development, which are necessary for living in and contributing to the developing and changing milieu;
  3. To create an academic environment that learners may appreciate the richness of culture and be aware of their dignity as human beings;
  4. To intensify the learner's knowledge of identification with creation and love for the nation and the people to which he/she belongs; and
  5. To promote work experiences through performance tasks that develops and enhances the learner's orientation to the world of work and creativity in order to prepare the learner to engage in home and gainful work.
